La Trinité sur mer - France- to host the Mumm 30 World Championships in June

Mumm 30 World Championship - La Trinité sur mer - France- to host the Mumm 30 World Championships in June
LA TRINITÉ SUR MER, FRANCE-(18-3-2005) Brittany’ sailing Mecca la Trinité sur Mer will host for the very first time the 9th Mumm 30 World Championships from June 1st til June 4th. World Class specialists from all over Europe, the United States and Australia will challenge France’s best yachtsmen.

The Société Nautique de la Trinité sur Mer is widely recognized for its knowhow and its thorough organizational skill to make the best out of the spectacular Gulf of Morbihan seawaters. French offshore sailors have been training hard to meet the expected tough competitions from international experts such as California Deneen Demourkas, 2004 Sailing Tour de France runner up and current Key West winner. Farr 40 World Champion Jim Richardson from the USA is also building up an all star crew to compete in Brittany and possibly in the Tour de France in July.

Key West contender Nelson Stephenson should also compete, thus reinforcing the chances for an American victory. Europe’s best are also hard at work to meet up the challenge : Holland’s Peter De Ridder and the crew of « Mean Machine » have already been training in France and giving the Italian Champions, the Leporati brothers some competition during the « Primo Cup ». Italy is expected to enlist at least four teams, including Perris’ « Dangerous but Fun ». Britain and Ireland should send up to five of their best crews, while Australia Richard Perrini, current Wold Champion is expected to defend his title. French specialists show an obviously strong motivation for the event. From battle hardened Jimmy Pahun to stunning new talents such as Pierre Loic Berthet, Dimitri Deruelle, Sylvain Chounder, many crews dream to let the world know about the french way to sail a Mumm 30…
